|"Capturing Your Cherished Moments"|
Timing and location is key!! These photos are of Ethan, Cyndi and their two lovely kiddies were taken at Chalk Ridge Falls on Stillhouse lake dam in Central Texas and at 9:00am. The kids had a good night sleep and a good breakfast and the baby had just woken up from a nap in the car. Having a well rested child with food in their bellies helps to capture the best photos because they have energy and are more willing to do what you ask of them. On this session, both kids did wonderful and the daughter did some exploring to keep from getting too stir crazy. I also had them interact with each other as much as possible, this helps get some really sweet photos. Towards the end, about 40 minutes, they were both ready to stop and that was my signal that they were done, baby started getting tired and sister no longer wanted to look at me. Kids need to let loose for photos to get their true personalities to shine through in the images and I will not push a child to do something they just don't want to. I do my best not to make them feel that they have to do what I ask, it's more of a game and letting them lead with a little assistance from me and their parents. And when that game is over for them, it's over for good. So kids will only last about 30 minutes before their game is over, so I do my best to work quickly with them and get some "in the moment" pictures too. If your child has had a bad attitude with their photos in the past, don't give up. Perhaps you need to choose a different time of day or reward them with a trip to the ice cream shop afterward. You know your child best so figure out what they will respond to and work with that, let me in on the reward and we will work together to "capture your cherished moments" for your family. If your child is shy, I would love to meet them before the session. We can form a little bond so they aren't so nervous or shy in their photos.
